Flood Map program shows rising sea level – how will you fare?

14 Meter Sea Level rise in South Florida – from Flood Map program
An amazing new program developed by Alex Tingle from the UK who made a free online program using google maps that shows how land area will be affected from sea level rise from global warming. For instance, if you live in Miami and are concerned about what a 14 meter (46 feet) rise in sea level will do to your property then just navigate the map (see screen shot above) When using the Flood Map, it’s best to double click to center the area you wish to go to and then just zoom in or out and it will stay centered. (the usual location/address doesn’t work here – you manually navigate) Click here to start the map for the United States. Try enabling the satellite view too. Click here for the default Europe map. Here is a link that shows how you can incorporate this program into your website.
Sea level rise from climate change is a serious global threat. Continued growth of greenhouse gas emissions and associated global warming could possibly bring 3 to 10 feet sea level rise this century . If there is a rapid breakup and melting of the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets some scientists estimate even more dramatic sea level rises. The Flood Google map shows sea level rise ranging up to 14 meters (or 46 feet)
ExploreOurPla.net blog on climate change stated that a recently published working paper the World Bank combined population and elevation data to find out what are the consequences of 1 meter (approx 3 feet) of sea level rise (SLR):
“Our results reveal that hundreds of millions of people in the developing world are likely to be displaced by SLR within this century; and accompanying economic and ecological damage will be severe for many.
At the country level, results are extremely skewed, with severe impacts limited to a relatively small number of countries. For these countries (e.g., Vietnam, A.R. of Egypt, and The Bahamas), however, the consequences of SLR are potentially catastrophic.”

The way you have described this is very thorough. I will link your blog page to mine.
